Rock on a Large Scale

Anthony Gonzalez, the brains behind M83, crafts songs of cinematic proportions thanks mostly to his use of synthesizers. Just over a year old, Before the Dawn Heals Us is often considered the group's finest release to date. It is the most accessible of their albums. Gonzalez loses long time partner Nicolas Fromageau and adopts a harder rock tone on the album. The album also throws vocals into the mix, whose noticeable absence had somewhat hindered previous efforts. Tracks like "Don't Save Us From the Flames" and "Teen Angst" prove that the album is a step in the right direction.
