A Little Experimentation...

In September of 2000, Uri Caine, Christian McBride and Questlove got together to record a record representative of Philadelphia and its underappreciated music scene. The resulting album, The Philadelphia Experiment, is a superb blend of Jazz, Funk, Soul, and Hip Hop. The set plays out just as it was recorded; it reflects the fun and spontaneity that was the underlying theme of the three day session. Featuring local guest artists such as Pat Martino, Larry Gold and John Swana, the effort succeeds in putting Philadelphia back on the music world’s map.
